Your computer leaves a trace of sites visited & files deleted

It is no secret that if you have been around on the internet or computers since the late 1990s, you might know some terms such as “Cookies” “Browser History” and “Recycle Bin” — and no we are not talking about chocolate chip cookies.  An internet cookie is a piece of information sent to a browser by a web server or site that you have visited. The browser then returns that information back to the web server or site.  There are tons of cookies on your computer unless you clean them.  This goes along with your browser history which also is stored on your computer and contains a list of all those websites you have visited!

Some of you may know you can goto Tools -> Internet Options -> and delete the History and Cookies from there — which is true.  You may also know you can delete a file and then empty the recycle bin and you probably think that file is gone forever.  Wrong!  Technology these days makes its possible to recover deleted files, history, and other sensitive information.  There are free programs out there, not just the FBI has the capability to recover files.  I am going to recommend you a program that a lot of people use called Webroot Windows Washer.  Basically, this program not only cleans up space, but makes sure files are unrecoverable.  You can add the same bleach options that the US government uses when they get rid of old computers and hard drives.  They have DOD, NSA, and even Gutman bleach options to ensure your files are gone forever.

Check out all the features and benefits of Windows Washer.

They also have a free trial which lasts for a month or so, so you can decide if it you like it.
